Kapiti Concert orchestra is delighted to announce that we will hold a concert at the new Kapiti Performing Arts Centre 'Te Raukura' on Saturday August 15th. On the programme we have Dvorak New World symphony , a classic favourite , Ritchie's Papanui Road Overture and works by Franchi , another NZ composer, featuring the viola, harmonica (with local Coral Trimmer) and harp.

Local luminary Lucien Johnson leads a new quintet and an all new repertoire of music for his first major concert since returning from New York as an Arts Foundation Fellow. Lucien will be exploring original musical territory, drawing inspiration from impressionist composers, transcendent jazz soloists and intimate local landscapes. He is joined on this quest by Nicky Wuts (vibraphone), Michelle Velvin (harp), Tom Callwood (double bass) and Cory Champion (drums).
